I have been through this while losing my father to a brain tumor 25 years ago. One of the most difficult feelings to let go of was the fear that I would fail him when it came to protecting him and caring for him. Yet at the same time, I considered it a privilege to be allowed to love him and care for him in those last days. With death so near, I felt as if we were living as fully as possible.
